Van Drivers

- Van Drivers – picking up and taking children on Thursdays, youth on Sundays and special events like camps, mission trips, etc.

Congregational Care Committee

- Funeral Meals – The meal is usually at the church before the funeral and volunteers bring food to the church. They also need people who will serve the family and cleanup after the meal.
- Hospital Visitation – Visit, Pray, and once home provide a hot meal.
- At Home Ministry – Teams of two who visit our at home members. Teams visit twice a month and bring a light meal for one visit and communion on the other visit.

FUMC Choir

- The sanctuary choir at FUMC leads worship during the service at 10:30am on Sunday mornings. We sing a variety of music styles from traditional hymns to contemporary worship songs. We rehearse each Wednesday evening in the Wesley Room from 6:00-6:30pm. If you enjoy singing, fellowship, and serving the Lord, you will love being a member of the FUMC Choir!

Food Bank

- The Food Bank is a local nonprofit that is supported by the Abilene Community. FUMC supplies volunteers on the first Wednesday of the month to unpack and sort food that arrives by shipments. The hours worked by volunteers earns discounts on the price of the food that the Food Pantry buys from the Food Bank.

B.O.B.S.

- BOBS, Breakfast on Beech Street, located at North Third and Beech Street, prepares breakfast for the needy and underemployed of our community every week day from 6:30 AM to 7:15 AM. When the clients leave BOBS, they also receive a sack lunch containing a sandwich, fruit, cookies and a scripture.
- BOBS is an ecumenical partnership between First Central Presbyterian Church, First Christian Church, First United Methodist Church, Heavenly Rest Episcopal Church, and Highland Church of Christ.
- FUMC supplies teams on Wednesday mornings from 5:30 to 7:45 AM. We have four different teams, so each team works every fourth Wednesday.
