Prayer Ministry

Prayer is a core value of First United Methodist Church, Abilene, Texas.
While it may seem obvious that Christians should pray,
we view prayer as more than just a routine
of the Christian faith - it is the means of access to God's will and wisdom for our lives, church, and nation. We believe whole-heartedly that God answers prayer,
and we encourage every member to make prayer a priority in their lives.
The Prayer Team undergirds every FUMC ministry, mission,
and member with weekly prayer. Requests submitted each week are prayed over by numerous prayer team members. We provide individual and corporate intercession,
take part in continuous training and education, and provide an overall prayer foundation with clear vision for the church.
The FUMC Prayer Team members are caring, trained, faith believing and Spirit-led persons who will pray earnestly for your specific needs. These volunteers are ordinary people who will be the first to tell you they have no special powers. They do have a heart of God’s love,
a strong faith in Jesus Christ and the courage to intercede with prayer and faith.
