Getting to know each other

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at First Methodist a great one!

SERVICE TIMES

First Methodist meets every weekend on Sundays at 202 Butternut st. in Abilene, Texas:

  • Sunday School: Sundays at 9:00am
  • Coffee and Fellowship: Sundays at 10:00am
  • Worship Service: Sundays at 10:30am

What can I expect?

For Easter this year we will be including a tradition called Blooming of the Cross in our service. This is simply a way to visually represent new life. Before service begins people will be adding live flowers to a cross at the front of service and then at the end the cross will be carried out and placed in front of the church.
We will not be having a separate children's service for Easter. We encourage everyone to celebrate Easter together as a family.

Culture of First Methodist

Here at First Methodist we encourage you to come as you. You will see someone in a suit and the next person in a t-shirt and jeans. We are just excited you are here. Jesus doesn't care what we wear and where we are coming from.

Covid-19 Precautions

We are doing our best to help keep Covid-19 out of our building and our community healthy. Commonly touched surfaces are sanitized regularly. We have seats spread out so your family can sit together but there is 3 feet between your family and the next one. We are also providing a mask at the door if one is needed and are encouraging mask usage when not in your seat. Hand sanitizer is also available.
