The Church & Society ministry team at FUMC is passionate about educating believers on issues that affect us as Christians, such as today's media, politics, government, and society in general. Scripture calls us to a certain level of commitment to Christ and His teachings, which our society often ignores with its "anything goes" perspective.
How do we resolve this conflict? By staying informed about such things as voting, pending legislation, Supreme Court issues, Internet dangers, and other concerns for the American family.
We possess a precious heritage left by our Founding Fathers that we need not lose sight of in the 21st century. Voting in elections, honoring our veterans, remembering to pray for our nation, our government, and our President - all are necessary acts of Patriotism for Christians in keeping our nation faithful to God.
