Tommy Hood has been Associate Pastor and head of Worship ministries at First United Methodist Church since fall 2006. He has a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Religion from East Texas Baptist University and served as an intercessory missionary with the International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City, Missouri (MO) from 2001-2005. Tommy has also held ministerial positions with Riverside Church (Youth Pastor - four years) of Bossier City, Louisiana (LA) and St. Matthew UMC (Assoc. Pastor/Worship - 18 months) of Lubbock, Texas (TX).
Tommy desires to "raise up a lovesick generation hungry for the presence of God," and music has an instrumental role to play in "feeding God's people."
Tommy has been married to his beautiful wife, Lindsay, for four years and has two young children who are the "joys of my life." He enjoys New Orleans Saints/LSU Tigers football (as our "resident Cajun"), golf (though admitting he's not really that good), movies that "move the heart," American Idol, and spending time with his wife and kids.
