Doug Brown has been Youth Pastor at First United Methodist Church since fall 2005. He has a Masters in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University and has locally served in youth ministry for over 15 years. Doug has grown up in the Methodist doctrine having been a part of Polk Street United Methodist Church in Amarillo, Texas (TX) as a youth.
Doug's personal philosophy on a successful youth ministry is, "a good ministry is one that does not solely depend on a youth pastor, but relies on the strength of its adult volunteers who are empowered by the Holy Spirit."
Doug has been married to his lovely wife, Karen, for 16 years and has one older daughter. He enjoys yard work, paintball, boating, water skiing, and spending time with family.
