Andres Barriga, the newest addition to our ministry staff, joined First United Methodist Church as Latino Pastor in May of this year. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Bible Studies from Rio Grande Bible Institute (January ’97) and most recently served as Hispanic Ministries pastor for Abilene Bible Church for the past three and a half years. Andres has also held ministerial positions as Outreach Minister for Gethsemani Baptist Church in McAllen, Texas (TX) and Christian Education/Music Minister at the Center for Outreach and Christian Growth in Weslaco.
Andres’ desire is for, "God’s people to truly hear His message of hope and love, and for them to be obedient and faithful to Him."
Andres has been married to his lovely wife, Joya, for seven years and has three marvelous children. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his children, and listening to music.
